Google Nexus 6 Already Sold Out

The Nexus 6 appeared on AT&T's online store for a few hours, showing a placeholder LG Vista with the price tag of $49.99.

Google appears to have underestimated the popularity of the Nexus devices again. The company announced recently that its flagship Nexus 6 smartphone was up for pre-orders but was sold out in just a few minutes after. The Nexus 6 was launched two weeks ago, the first device to run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

The Nexus 6 comes with a 5.9-inch display with quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU, 3 GB of RAM, 13 megapixel rear camera, dual front speakers, 3220 mAh battery with Turbo Charging technology at $649 for its 32 GB internal storage and $699 for its 64 GB variant. It is more expensive than previous Nexus handsets which were beastly devices with mid-range prices.

Insufficient supply could be because of poor forecast or very high demand but a few people were able to complete their orders amidst a lot of unfortunate ones that complained about the device vanishing from their carts before they could even confirm their order.

Those who were able to complete their orders will receive six months of free Google Play Music subscription. Those who will buy the handset before 2014 ends will benefit from this promo as well.

Android 5.0 Lollipop has a new user interface called Material Design UI executed across all Google services and apps with third party app compatibility programmed by developers. It also offers the Project Volta battery tool, OpenGL ES 3.1 and Runtime.

Google has not announced when it will take orders for the Nexus 6 again, but notably, U.S. carriers will offer it at subsidized prices with contracts, while the UK Play Store hasn't listed the device to date.
