Jamal Crawford, shooting and point guard for the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Los Angeles Clippers, recovered from a rib injury and joined the 15,000 point club in a losing effort against the Sacramento Kings (98-92).
Crawford's rib injury forced him out of his previous game. He said he sustained the injury when defending Lakers' Robert Sacre during a game Friday night. It happened 22 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Reports stated that he should have also been out for the Kings game due to several tests. However, he went against the diagnosis and came in with the injury. He left the game though with 15,000 points in his career.
"We had the game ball and each guy passed it to him..." said head coach Doc Rivers. "Then, of course every time we passed it to him he held it and shot it, which is good."
Crawford said that prior to the game, he was taking a nap. He woke up and thought of going to the arena, though not thinking that he would go there just to sit down. Then when he was going through the walkthrough, he felt like he would give it a go.
Before the game, he went in with 14,984 points; just 16 points shy of the mark. Crawford got 19 points throughout the game.
Teammate Blake Griffin commented that it was a pleasure to play with Crawford as he never stopped watching or thinking about basketball.
While Crawford has reached a significant achievement in his career, his focus is still on his teammates.
"That is a lot of points, but honestly, like I have told you guys before, it is more about my teammates and coaches than anything..." he commented.
