Marion Knight, otherwise known as "Suge" Knight, was charged with murder and attempted murder last February 2, in correlation to last week's incident, which he ran over two men in a parking lot in Southern California, according to Reuters.

One of the victims was 55 year old Terry Carter, who was killed during the incident.

The 49 year old founder of Death Row Records was also charged with two counts of felony hit and run, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Knight was taken into custody on Friday, after turning himself him to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies.

The rap mogul is expected to appear before court on Tuesday. If convicted, he will receive a possible maximum life sentence in prison.

The murder charge traces back to one week ago, when Knight and two other men were involved in a squabble in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in Compton, Los Angeles.

The two men attempted to attack Knight through his car window before driving his car in reverse mode.

This knocked one man down to the ground, according to the sheriff's department. Knight then drove forward and ran over the other man, eventually fleeing the scene.

Knight's legal representative, Attorney James Blatt couldn't be reached and didn't release any official statement last February 2.

Though Blatt revealed to local media, Knight was assaulted in the parking lot and accidentally ran over the two men in defense.

Knight's bond was revoked by the Los Angeles County bail commissioner. The sheriff investigators insisted that Knight could be a possible candidate to California's three-strike rule, which gives heavier sentences to those previously convicted of felonies.

Knight has a history of felony charges and also served time in prison for violating past terms and sentences.
