The best Android smartphones were released at different events and it's that time of the year once again when there are leaked photos emerging of what looks like the upcoming Sony handset for 2014 called the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact.

Previous leaks showed that the Xperia Z3 Compact will borrow a lot of features from its bigger sibling design-wise. Based on the images, the smaller device has rounded edges and corners that make it more user-friendly or those who handle their phones with only one hand.

GforGames spotted the images from Chinese social media site Sina Weibo and the leaks seem to confirm previous images of the supposed full-size Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact. The device in the pictures shows the brand's distinct design as well as a 4.6-inch full HD screen, Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and 20.7 megapixel camera similar to the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2.

The said Sony Xperia Z3 seems to have the same specs as the Xperia Z2 such as the flap enclosure of the microSD card and micro-SIM slots.  Also, there is another flap to cover its microUSB port. The handset's front side has stereo speakers with pogo pins embedded for charging the device.

There is still no available dimensions for the handset but the leaked photos reveal thinner bezel in front compared to Xperia Z2. Notably, Sony debuted the Xperia Z1 at the 2012 IFA event while the Xperia Z2 was introduced at the MWC 2013. Based on this trend, Sony may announce the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact at the IFA 2014 in Berlin scheduled on Sept. 3.

The Xperia Z3 Compact is predicted to cost more than most minis in the market, including Huawei and Xiaomi. To make up for this, the Xperia Z3 could possibly have an excellent camera with LED flash on the rear with the logo of G Lens. The compact device could also run on the latest Android 4.4.2 or the Android 5.0 L.
