Petra Kvitova has had a few good tournament runs this year with two titles under her belt. But the former Wimbledon champion is far from her form that brought her to glory at the All-England Club for two years in a row. What could have been a sure-win for the Czech turned out to be a disappointment as she lost 2-6, 3-6 in the second round of the Rogers Cup to former world no. 1 Victoria Azarenka.

Williams’ compatriot, World No. 42 Sloane Stephens, was unsuccessful in pulling off what could have been the upset of the tournament, and eventually folded to the two-time French Open champion, 6-1, 5-7, 3-6.
