When it came to her acting career, Reese Witherspoon can say the shift from being Hollywood's Oscar winning sweetheart to the actress in a slump was somehow related to her divorce from Ryan Philippe, her ex-husband.

In an interview with Charlie Rose last December 21, Reese Witherspoon opens up about her innermost feelings which was aired on "60 minutes".

The 38 year old actress looks back on the time she won an Academy Award for the movie, "Walk The Line" as Johnny Cash's wife June Carter Cash.

In the ensuing months, she and her longtime husband Ryan Philippe had separated, citing irreconcilable differences.

The following year was a difficult year for her, especially when the speculation of that separation was when Philippe had an affair with his Australian co-star, Abbie Cornish.

Witherspoon who has 2 children with Philippe, Ava and Deacon. Ava is already 15 while Deacon is 11 years old.

The actress verbalized that she didn't have a floundering career because she wasn't making the things she was passionate about. For it simply meant she was just working for it.

It became clear to her that the audiences didn't respond to what she really put out there. The actress received mixed reviews in her Oscar winning role as June Carter Cash.

She strived and came back on her feet again as a rising star with more daring and mature roles. Now, she is back onscreen with more projects to come.

She was previously linked with Jake Gyllenhaal before eventually meeting her second husband Jim Toth.
