Early in January, reports surfaced that the Apple Music online streaming service had reached 10 million subscribers. On Feb. 11, Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue confirmed that it has indeed surpassed that figure and estimates that Apple Music has over 11 million subscribers.

When the United States government started promoting the idea of installing backdoors on computers and devices in order to help in criminal investigations, several tech companies jumped in alarm, citing some serious security and privacy repercussions of the proposal. Now, two lawmakers have proposed a House bill that if approved, will prevent any state or even local government bodies from forcing tech companies to create backdoors on their software or hardware products.

A day after the ban was imposed, Facebook board member Marc Andreessen stood up to defend Free Basics. A Seattle-based law firm is planning to file a class action lawsuit against tech giant Apple regarding the 'Error 53' message experienced by some iPhone owners. The firm said that the error appears when certain iPhone models have their Touch ID sensor repaired by unofficial Apple technicians.

Japanese car manufacturer Honda recently announced that it will issue a new recall order involving at least 2.2 million more cars due to faulty Takata air bags. The figure includes the 500,000 cars that was originally reported on Feb. 3. Honda added that a separate air bag defect will force the company to recall at least 341,000 more cars.

It appears that the pressure from the chipmaker is slowly starting to creep in.
